Idea for Logos Now

I haven't been that impressed with the contents of Logos Now as of yet, but I can appreciate the idea. As of now I will not renew my subscription when my free month ends. However, with tomorrow's release that might all change! . (Concordance looks promising....)
Lately I have been reading up on the attributes of God and I think a tool on the attributes much like the "Commandments of the Law" would be helpful. It could link to systematic theologies, dictionaries and even sermon excerpts on each attribute.
It could break them down into Communicable and Incommunicable and go from there, listing scripture references for each....
Each systematic breaks them down different so maybe it could sort them by systematic theology and link to each section.
In each attribute there could be a section for notes where we could make notes and or hyperlink to different resources.
These are just a few ideas, maybe others have better....Big possibilities though!

We have a Names of God interactive on the ideas list. We could possibly expand that to include attributes as well.

Yeah Phil, I think that those two would go hand in hand actually. A lot of the names of God are used because of the attribute they are relating to Him.

Well Mike, the new release is out. Just out of curiosity ... did you change on renewing?

Not as of yet. I have played around with it and it is a nice "toy" but I can't see how it would fit in with how I use the software to prepare. It is entirely subjective though.....

This would be an excellent feature!

Many theologians classify them differently and it would be really helpful to see the different classification schema as a sort option

Why new datasets has to be for Logos Now?
Why can't it just be for regular L6? Is Logos really milking Logos Now that badly???

We don't typically sell datasets a la carte. We release them with major new releases. Logos 6 is already out, so we can't add new datasets to it. They'll need to wait for Logos 7. Logos Now is a subscription model that gives you access to new datasets as we make them instead of making you wait until the next major release. That's not milking Logos Now. That's delivering on the promise of what Logos Now is.

Thanks for the reply Phil,
So you're saying no new data-sets for L6 ever until L7? Is this the new business model for the future? I joined during L5, so I don't know how that differ from L3, L4, L5's business model.

at least from the L4 days, the model has always been new data sets sold in new base packages at major "dot 0" releases 4.0, 5.0, 6.0.
Other new features and improvements have been added free in "point" releases (I.e 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4). This will continue.

In terms of datasets, where's what Faithlife/Logos has "typically" done:
1. Each major release of Logos offered new datasets that weren't in the previous editions (L4, L5, L6, etc.). These new datasets in the new version of Logos were not part of the version and base package you purchased, so therefore, when new datasets came out in a new Logos release, you would need to upgrade to the new version to get the new datasets.
2. Some datasets that were not "complete" when shipped in a Logos base package were later updated for free during minor Logos updates (such as the Bible Sense Lexicon, resources such as the Syntax databases, etc.). You basically purchased a license for the entire dataset when purchasing the base package, and since the dataset wasn't finished by shipping time, you got what was finished by shipping time, as well as got the updates to it free of charge after they were finished. Similar to how in Logos 6, when I purchased Platinum, some of the resources included in my base collection (UBS5, etc) weren't ready to ship when I upgraded. I later got these resources "for free" when they were finished since I "pre-paid for them" when I upgraded to a new base package.
3. Now Logos is offering Logos Now as a way to experience the latest datasets plus some core features and media "now" for an ongoing subscription. Instead of making us wait for L7, we can get the latest datasets as they're being developed, and Logos is receiving ongoing funding to support building the new datasets instead of having to wait for L7 to reclaim the expenses, which is reasonable.
The Logos Core Engine will continue to receive free updates.
So basically:
1. You'll still be getting free updates to the Logos Core Engine.
2. If any L6 datasets you own weren't complete when you upgraded to L6, you "should" be able to get free updates to them if Faithlife/Logos continues their current model.
3. There won't be any new datasets available for L6 that you haven't already purchased when you upgraded to L6. You can either wait and see what L7 offers in a couple years, or if you want to see what the latest datasets are, opt into Logos Now.
