Did you change your email address on your account? I heard that would set you back to 0.
Did you recently change email addresses? Others who have experienced a reset of their post counts (for that reason) were able to call Customer Support & get their counts reinstated.
Of course, if you're of the opinion expressed in one thread that post count was inversely proportional to holiness, you've just entered the beatification process (with apologies to my Catholic brothers & sisters). [;)]
