1) The bottom of letters are cut off in Compose mode:
As you can see, it only happens on the line I am currently typing on, but not on its first letter.
It's not 100% reproducible, but happens far more often than not. Tentatively: it seems to happen consistently when I open a new Compose window, but I have trouble reproducing it at the bottom of this otherwise finished post.
2) I also occasionally see odd lines below what I've typed:
I'm guessing these are connected: if you move that line slightly to the right, the blacker 'dots' will fit right under the y's and g.
