ESV Study Notes

Anybody know how much longer until the release?

If we're starting a pool for the next BETA, I'll take tomorrow mid-day... my macro to keep typing "Update Now" is getting tired. I may need a faster laptop. [:D]
If we're starting a pool for 4.0b gold, IMO it's at least a week or 2 off unless they skip the RC phase. It's still in beta 5.
However, since I'm not an official source (& hence can speculate), YMMV.

Actually, he was asking about the study notes for the ESV [:)], and I haven't seen a firm time line, although there seems to be a lot of people wating.

I'm still on L3. L4 didn't work for me and I haven't the resources yet to upgrade computer, but I assume both tiers will be ready at same time.

Bradley said it would be sometime this week, so that means tomorrow or Friday, if he keeps his word. I'm with you...can't wait for Beta 6!

Hi Chris,
Did you take advantage of discounts to increase your collection ON L3, while you're waiting for resources to upgrade the computer for L4? Don't forget that you can... scripts to make L4 resources available back in L3 are at this link:
http://blog.logos.com/archives/2009/12/using_your_new_logos_4_resources_in_logos_3_or_logos_for_mac_1.html . I'm happily using Platinum resources in L3 for the things it still does better than L4, while I'm waiting for L4 to evolve...Blessings to you,
Bill

I am patiently waiting for the ESV Study Bible notes. From what I have read in the forums, no one knows when they will be ready.
On a side note, I got a good chuckle as I read through this thread, waking up with my morning coffee. My thoughts were already a little fuzzy and then I came upon this collision of intertwined topics with little in common. Still waking up... [:)]

I am trying to wait "patiently" too. Been waiting a long time. Before long I am going to actually buy a hardcopy of the Study Bible and cancel my prepub order.

I'm still waiting for the Logos version too, but I recently bought a TruTone leather bound copy of the ESV Study Bible and am enjoying reading it. I won't cancel my prepub order, as there are great benefits to being able to search digitally, but nothing beats the smell and feel of a quality bound book in one's hands, and the Word of God no less. I'd held back on getting any leather bound Bible until recently, because I felt that it was so special it should be reserved for my final Bible that would be my main reading Bible for the rest of my life. But now that I've experienced a leather bound one, I want it for all my Bibles! (Actually, I got the TNIV in leather just before getting the ESV.) And with what I know of Bible translation history now, I very much doubt that these will be my last.

I do like the benefits of searching electronic books, and as of late have looked to see if the books that I purchase are available from Logos. If they are, I order them in that format. I tried to be a good steward and not have two copies of one book.

I actually got the full ESV Study Bible--Scripture and all the notes--for 10 dollars. On Kindle. I was shocked it would be sold for this low a price, and I jumped on it. Very good functionality, too. You read the Bible and the notes are hyperlinked to each verse. Works great. I would bet there are a few features missing but most of the good stuff is there. And by the way, a number of Christian publishers--particularly Tyndale and Zondervan--are putting good books on Kindle for free occasionally. Not trying to hijack this thread to a Kindle discussion, but I thought it was great to have the ESV Study Bible for that price.

Only $10? But then, you had to buy the Kindle. [8-)]

This is the first "pre-pub" listed in my long list of pre-pubs. The wait is killing me! Please, please, please Logos...

I too have it on Kindle. Nice but nowhere near the usefulness it will be here in Logos. But the Kindle book is extremely well done.
