I am aware that this is not strictly a logos-related question, but I thought this would be a good place to get input from others who might have the answer:
I am looking for a method to teach myself German. I have rosetta stone, and it had its uses, but like many other methods out there, it is more tourist-oriented. I have learned about coffee, telephones and horses but not reports, critical studies terms, and so on.
I have Ziefle as well (in Logos). It's a reader, and there is learning to be acquired, but its not a full-fledged teach yourself course. I have access to books such as Reading German or April Wilson's German Quickly.
What I want is to be taken along, with exercises to check my progress, not just read grammars or texts. I don't need audio or pronunciation.
Suggestions? (I am looking for something specific here, don't feel you have to suggest something if you don't know of it personally please).
