A Sermon Starter should be able to start with a lectionary date an include a section of lectionary-based themes drawn from resources such as:

  • The Text this Week (Possible Themes: Trinity, Holy Spirit, Holiness, nature of  God, Love, Spirit and Flesh, New Life/Birth)
  • Gail Ranshaw's Treasures Old and New: Images in the Lectionary (week, light, servant, prophet

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

That could be a nice feature; I could see this being very helpful as someone looked ahead through the lectionary and was trying to decide which lectionary passage should be used for a sermon.
