Downloading Video

I'm enjoying Logos 6 but have a question. I added the Basics of Biblical Greek Video series and am using the function to download the videos rather than stream them. How can I view the download progress of these videos? How can I tell which ones I've downloaded and which are still only available by streaming. Important because my connection isn't the best so they don't download very fast. Thanks!

    Hi Joshua,

    Welcome to the forums.  [:)]

I'm not sure there is a specific method to see exactly how much video is downloaded versus how much remains.  I have noticed that there seems to be some type of progress bar at the bottom of the video similar to the one you see when you play a video.  For example, if you have video hat you know is not on your hard rive, you can select "download all media" from the panel menu for that resource series.  (I assume you have done that and now you're trying to figure out where you are in the process.)  When I click on the video in the content pane I have been able to see this progress bar during the download process.  Sometimes I need to click on the next video, and the next, and the next to find out where the system is in the process.  Once a video is downloaded there does not seem to be any visual cue that it is completed.  So, my technique involves hunting for the one in progress by clicking until I see where I see the progress bar moving.

I know that is not a very scientific way to see progress but I'm not sure one exists.  Perhaps one of the forum experts can chime in.

Also, while these videos are downloading, if you want to watch one, go ahead. If it has already downloaded, well and good. If not, it will stream right away and be saved to your computer, as normal. (There might be a setting to change this, but all streamed videos are by default saved to your hard drive.)

If you look at the resource info and it no longer gives you the option to stop the download (right with the option to delete all downloaded media for that resource), then the download of all of the videos for that resource is complete.

FL needs to apply to video downloads the same visuals as for other resources: we need to see a little blue circle that tells us what is happening and have downloads listed on the home page.

Moreover, considering the size of individual video files and the time it takes to download them, they need to provide the ability to download and remove individual chapters, not just "download all media" or "remove all media". This way, one can plan to watch specific lessons by downloading them ahead of time, and if tight on space, can opt to remove the ones that are no longer needed locally.
