If you have trouble logging in to Logos on Android, try changing case of email

I couldn't log in to Logos on my Android; kept getting the error message about wrong email/password.

I finally figured it out: the email field is case-sensitive. Sometimes I capitalize the first letter of my name, and sometimes I don't. This used to be important in email; that stopped being so years ago.

I understand that the password must be case-sensitive. But the email? That's totally unhelpful and unnecessary.

Since Logos uses the email address as a username it makes some sense to me that it would be case-sensitive. It seems like more and more sites are using case-sensitive usernames. I guess its just another level of security . . . which I won't complain about.

I did some experimenting: I can log in to Logos on Windows and the Logos.com website, using caps or no caps -- it makes no difference. It's only in Android. So I'd call that a bug, not security.

The sign-in email is not case-sensitive. Our theory is you are running into the double-signin issue that has occured on Android devices - please see here for the fix: https://www.logos.com/support/bible/android/multiple-sign-in

Kevin, thank you for sharing the link. I've been doing the double sign-in method for a while on my phone. I thought it was an issue with the phone since my tablet worked fine.[:P]

Fortunately, I can't tell you if it helps. What I mean is, after I was finally able to enter an acceptable password, it remembers that every time I start. I haven't had to log in since then. And, as someone noted in another post on the "Android Apps" forum, it's impossible to log out, so I cannot test this.

It's a bit of a mystery why I needed to log in at all, since I've been using it regularly for months if not years; one of life's many mysteries...

It's not a mystery - it was a bug in the sign-in code of our Android apps... in any case I'm glad it's working now.!
