[resolved] Crash when opening newest Logos 6 Update (Win 7)
I ran the update for Logos 6 the other day (May 29), and it keeps crashing within the first minute or so after I open it and all the resources load on my workspace. In four tries I have not been able to avoid a crash. I'm running Win 7 on a PC. The Logos log file from 5-29 is attached. Would appreciate any help. Thanks!
Phillip

Hi Philip - welcome to the forums
Do you have a Logos.log file in the same directory as the Error Log?
If so, please upload it
If not, please enable full logging and upload it after a failed startup attempt. Details at https://www.logos.com/support/logos6/windows/report-problem

Thanks, Graham. Here's the log. (I just now ran the script to enable logging permanently.)
It just crashed again after opening--took three minutes. I was just clicking through open panels and closing them (had a lot of searches and documents open). I was not opening new resources, not running any searches. Just closing resource panels that were already open. This was the case for the last 5 crashes as well, as it always crashes before I actually begin to do any work.
Using an HP/Compaq 6710b laptop, running Win 7 Enterprise SP-1, 32-bit OS, 4 GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T8100 @ 2.10 GHz.

Hi Philip
Thanks for the log.
There is a lot of activity going on - some of which I don't understand - but no evidence of a crash
Can you check the Windows Event Viewer at the time of the last crash - which I guess would be just after 11am your time - and see if there are any reports of Application errors?

And how do we make that happen? Should I put some bling around my subject line? :-)
Thanks for your help, Graham!

Should I put some bling around my subject line? :-)
Editing the title of the thread to begin with BUG: certainly won't slow down the process.

It has been flagged for attention within Faithlife - hopefully someone will respond soon

Like Graham, I don't see any crash in the log, and you don't have any listed with our internal crash reporter. Unfortunately my best recommendation at this point would be to contact our Tech Support. With your permission, they can remotely access your machine and see exactly what's going on, and they're more well-versed in the Windows Event Viewer reports.
Sorry for the trouble. [:(]

Any resolution, Phillip?

Not exactly, Dave. My Logos program still stops on all syntax searching; however, I've been told that running 32-bit version of Logos seems to be the culprit and that it will be fixed with the next Service Release. So, I'm in that "already/not yet" stage. When the new SR comes, I'll be eager to see if it really is resolved. Until then, I cannot do the syntax searching I need to.
Any idea on when the next Service Release will come out?

It could be in the next two days if FL have a solution for 32-bit Logos.

That would be terrific.
BTW, what does "ACK" mean in the edited subject line? [I know what it means to me when my program stops suddenly! ]

Acknowledged by Faithlife ... unless you are a fan of Bill the Cat in which case it means ACK.
