In the set https://verbum.com/products/9940/perseus-classics-collection I had the set hidden about a year ago. I'm seeking to recover some of the English texts. But when I click "Unhide" in the preferences (Mac), the work is neither found in my library or in the list of hidden resources.
I tried the suggestions here: https://community.logos.com/forums/p/81269/568614.aspx#568614 but they don't seem to work (titles still missing). Is there a solution? (Verbum 6 Foundations for Mac)

David, I can't tell you if there's a solution to force it to appear immediately, but I had the same problem last week (and I had tried tricks you referred to) so I left it and a couple days later when the application had an update (or was it that I was getting books...?) it suddenly showed up! So if it's not urgent I would say don't worry they'll come. Hope this is a workable solution, and sorry I don't have a silver bullet for you!
Have you tried the Update Resources command? Hiding deletes the resource from your computer, so it has to download again.
But when I click "Unhide" in the preferences (Mac), the work is neither found in my library or in the list of hidden resources.
Update resources shouldn't be necessary (but it should work). Try "unhide" in Tools >> Program Settings next time.
David says he tried the suggestions in the other thread, which mentioned "update resources" so I assume he already tried that. Also, tools>program settings & "preferences" in the Logos menu (or Cmd+,) go to the same window so that wouldn't make a difference. It's just a lot easier on a Mac to simply hit Cmd+, and be in the application settings, especially as this is consistent across all Mac programs. [:P]

David,
With all the suggestions not working I suggest you call Tech Support as they can get access to your computer

So Preferences opens a Settings panel in Logos?
yup! (not "system preferences", but "Logos preferences")

Really? I've used Macs since 1991 and Cmd+ has always zoomed. Preferences is Cmd,. (I e don't assume the US is the world.[;)])

Actually that's confusing written down... the actual command would be (verbally) "Control [Comma]"
One thing I noticed... the resource was not greyed out as it would be if it was already purchased. The "Buy Now" button is orange. I'm wondering if this means the resources were removed by Logos.
Back in the days of Logos 4, I had tech support remove the license because that was over 1100 resources which made it hard to find what I was looking for.
Would I have to reinstall it and then manually hide (ugh) the ones I don't want?
Sorry, I should have put it brackets or something to make it more clear. I was simply following standard notation for keystrokes in which zoom would be Cmd++. To make it unequivocal the keystroke for preferences is [Cmd + , ] or [Command + Comma].
Thanks for pointing out the ambiguity to me!

No problem... Apple is easy to use, but not always easy to explain [;)]
Please contact Tech Support as I recommended earlier, and reference this thread

OK, I'll try to make time for this. Thanks

If tech support "removed the license", then it is as if you never owned it. This would be consistent with the behavior you are describing. You will need to "repurchase" the product and hide the ones you don't want. Note that hiding can be accomplished all at once in your library on any number of selected items. Fair enough. I don't know why they would show up as hidden, but I suspect you are right. I'll follow your link and see what courage I can muster to try.

It possible that there is a bug that keeps books in the hidden list even after the resource license is revoked. I'll take a look tomorrow and see.
If you have certain types of resources that you want to hide from Perseus, I suggest asking on the forums here. You can probably get some good suggestions on how to filter your library list to just the ones you want to hide. From there it's a simple matter to select them all and then a couple clicks will hide them all. It should be pretty easy.

Basically, I'd want to hide the non-English titles because I don't know Greek or Latin

I'm really glad to know this! I've still been using Mark Barnes' ten-at-a-time trick from a couple years ago. [:D]
I believe you can use the following filter in the library: publisher:perseus ANDNOT language:english

I would just copy/paste that into the command bar (after re-downloading of course)?
Copy/paste that into the filter box in your library window.

It looks like books you have hidden still show up in your hidden list even after you no longer own them. I have created a bug report for this problem.
OK, as a follow up. I "repurchased" the free set. Then when I went to download the books on Verbum, it only downloaded the books i had previously tried to unhide--an ideal situation for me.
Thanks for the support in helping me figure this out. God Bless
I NEED to be able to quickly Unhide ALL resources. I have thousands of resources with the Collectors Edition, Master Bundle ETC and I cannot possibly unhide all of them One-By-One. PLEASE HELP I have research papers to complete!
Hi Steve - and welcome to the forums
I NEED to be able to quickly Unhide ALL resources. I have thousands of resources with the Collectors Edition, Master Bundle ETC and I cannot possibly unhide all of them One-By-One
Just trying to ensure I understand.
Have you actually hidden all of these resources previously or is it just that they are not visible in your library for some reason?
Graham
I have all resources Hidden. I have manually Unhidden 14 must haves for the moment.
I have ALL resources Hidden with the exception of 14 must haves that I just put back for the moment.
Graham,
I apologize for the hasty reply without even personally addressing you. I have been a Logos user since my childhood (Version 2 that was running on 5.25 disks or something like that). My Library recently outgrew the HD on my laptop computer and LATE last night while I was trying to make it work I selected ALL to Hide rather than the group I desired and when I noticed, it was too late. Tech support unfortunately did not seem to have any support for me (This is NOT the norm as they have support that I would typically rank #1).
Thanks to you and ANYONE else that may be able to help.
-Steve
I am supposed to graduate 8 days from now, but its not gonna happen if I don't finish an 8-10 page Introduction to Philippians and another one to Colossians.

No problem at all but thank you.

Ouch!
Tech support unfortunately did not seem to have any support for me (This is NOT the norm as they have support that I would typically rank #1).
I think the problem is that, programatically, there isn't any way to do this.
Couple of ideas / thoughts:
I am supposed to graduate 8 days from now
Hope you find some way to get access to what you need
Thank you very much. I actually tried going to another computer that had not yet updated this morning and I went into Program Settings and Selected "Use Internet ___ No" to disable internet search and updates, but when I turned the internet back on it updated anyway, (I think I must have failed to restart the program first).
As a work around, I have several layouts saved and I am going through those layouts and when the resources tabs come up, they say "This resource has been hidden." and have an "Unhide this resource" button. This will at least get my most used resources back quickly.
When I called earlier I asked them to check for a "Back end" solution as I know it exists, but they had nobody with any knowledge of it/ access to it on staff today. They recommended I Post my problem and check the Forum for User solutions.
Thanks again,

I think the problem is that, programatically, there isn't any way to do this. Couple of ideas / thoughts: Do you happen to have another installation of Logos software (maybe on another machine) that hasn't synced recently? If so, you could turn that on (ensuring it is not connected to the Internet) and you would find your resources there. This would also work if you had a tablet with the Logos mobile apps running (again, start this with Airplane mode enabled) See if there is any way that someone in Customer Services can "unhide" your hidden resources. I know you have been speaking to Tech Support but not sure if they were trying to find out a way to fix it in your Logos software or whether they had looked at any potential "back-end" solutions. Bear in mind that if this is possible - and I have no idea if it is - this will trigger a significant download and indexing process I am supposed to graduate 8 days from now Hope you find some way to get access to what you need Graham
