[resolved] Can not load either of the last 2 releases of L6 beta [ie Beta 2 - 6.4.0.0015 nor Beta 3

Time and schedule kept me from reporting this previously.

I am using more than one User account so that I can maintain a "safe" version of Logos 6.

I am on a PC with Win 7 64 bit

Crashed after sign in splash screen

-during the "syncing" of resources.

[Also crashes at same place if holding down CTRL key]

[This probably is not the issue? - I also have "cloud" resources [probably pending] - believe that first crash was 1-2 betas ago ie. before Cloud release.]

[Anything that I have forgotten?]

These are all of the logs with today's date and time. The other go back earlier in the year or to past years.

thanks

- During this free Cloud month, [with the Logos Now components] I am eager to test the new Systematic Theology Collection

AFAIK I had no issues loading Beta 1 - This User account is one dedicated to testing Beta versions. That is all that I use it for.

[EDIT'ed in later]  The Problem Event Name:    CLR20r3 appears to be Windows related and can affect ANY program. Depending on the particular program that is crashing I've seen proposed solutions such as:

- "run as Administrator" [Logos does not want us to]

- that it might be caused by using/not using Unicode fonts

- or that .net is involved.

Thanks

Hi SteveF, I've created a case for the developers to investigate. Sorry I can't see an easy cause in your logs, so hopefully they'll be able to track it down.

    Thanks Dylan.

As I edited in later this particular "crash" is reported on a number of Windows Forums all over the internet.

It might be "my" Windows, or something Logos has recently coded in may be conflicting with my installation?

I did not have any problem with the past beta feature of automatic downloading/indexing without the need for a restart. That works fine on my stable version.

I did re-install some of the fonts that Logos had to delete with the change to per-requistites [or lack there of etc]

    Thanks for your help.

ps. Unlike some reported crashes I did not have either the Power Look-up nor the Information panel open.

    Regards, SteveF

Yeah, you'll likely get hits from all over the place trying to go just off of the Windows crash logs. FWIW, this is your error in Logos, I'm just not 100% sure what it implies, other than being related to the search engine:

ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: nField in Libronix.SearchEngine.SkipListPostingSearchResultReader.DoReadNextHit(Boolean bDiscardAll, Int32 nMinimumOffset)

Thanks. That one is "all greek" to me!] [:)]

    - [AFAIK I did not have any Search panels open?] or does Search Engine mean "something else"?

It looks like you may have a corrupt Library Catalog index. Please delete all files EXCEPT catalog.db in:

    D:\Logos5 Beta\Logos5\Data\e5lnmqo2.qt\LibraryCatalog

    and restart Logos 6.

    THANK YOU Bradley.

Logos Bible Software 6.4 Beta 36.4.0.0021 is now up and running.

[Perhaps you can add the "Solved" tag to the title of this thread? It does not appear to be one of my options?]
