[request] How about more space on the Shortcut Bar?

As you can see, I'm out of space on the SC bar. I have abbreviated the names of my SCs about as short as I care to. Now that the notification feature has been moved into the SC bar, it is even worse.

How about making a SC bar where the red box is, down where the old notification bar appeared?

Barring that, how about cutting the command box in about half?

Anything will help. (And while you're at it, give us more SC bar icon choices, so we don't have to use labels as often.)

If they only use the space where you have the red box, it will look like the current shortcut bar is wasted space. So how about if they expand the shortcut bar to wrap around onto a second line (a full width, where you've drawn the red box) only once it fills up?

Another option is they could do what Chrome does and add a double-right-caret icon at the far right that you can click on to get a dropdown menu for any extra icons that don't fit on the shortcut bar:

Not that that would be any easier than adding a second row for icon spillover. I think they'll argue that a full-width shortcut bar below would be a suboptimal solution from a UI standpoint, because they wouldn't want to show it at all when there aren't any shortcut icons (it would definitely look like wasted space then), but then where does a person drag their first shortcut to? It does make sense to have the blank area to the right of the command bar be the initial blank space they can drag shortcuts to, rather than creating a whole blank line below for nothing just to have a space people can drag things to.

Just asking, but Logos' current solution is the horizontal scroller? Give that up? Personally, the horizontal scroller on resource panals is a major pain. I like the vertical menu idea from google.

I agree, Denise. My primary concern is that the shortcuts be visible for quick access. Plus, I'm getting old. I may create one, and then forget it is there if I can't see it. [^o)]

An extra shortcut bar would make me the happiest. A popup would be next. The horizontal scroll feature is well down the list.
