In Logos (Verbum) Is it possible to print text from the Bible along with a matching commentary in the same document?
Welcome to the forums - good question but no, Logos/Verbum does not support this type of printing.
As a workaround, you could copy and paste some text from the Bible into a Word document or a similar document and then copy and paste the relevant text from a commentary and print that, with or without reformatting the text thereafter. There are limits to how much you can copy and paste from Verbum/Logos, but most people don't run into them.
Yeah, I was going to suggest the Word workaround too. You might want to consider creating a two-column table in Word, pasting the Bible text into the left column and the commentary text alongside it in the right column. If you want to get fancy, and make the commentary line up even better verse by verse with the text, you could create multiple rows in the table, one for each verse, and copy and paste each of the bits of text separately into the appropriate cells.
Yes, it would be nice if Logos could print out something like this for you. They should consider that for a future version. But, since more and more people are moving towards doing everything on the screen instead of wasting paper and using up trees, and since tablets are becoming more affordable and more powerful, there will soon no longer be a need for printouts of such things. You'd just have Logos running on your tablet with the Bible and commentary up side-by-side, in the same link set so they could scroll together in sync. And instead of writing on the paper if you wanted to mark it up, you'd do the markup directly in Logos through highlighting styles.
My thanks to everyone for the informative responses.
