I can't speak to the "man of God" question, but The Potter's Rib: Mentoring for Pastoral Formation by Brian A. Williams is excellent for preparing for pastoral ministry. Unfortunately not available in Logos.

One of the best I have read is Criswell's Guidebook for Pastors. Unfortunately, it is not available from Logos.
