[resolved] No results in Bible Word Study for נָחָשׁ 1.n (serpent)
Greetings, fellow students of the Word!
This isn't the first time I have seen odd results in recent versions of Logos, but it is rare, and I have mostly ignored it. I was hoping the community could get me somewhere with this one, and it might help me when running across similar results in the future.
Is there any reason I should get no results for נָחָשׁ 1.n (the serpent from Genesis 3 referred to by a vocable that occurs 31x in the BHS) in a Bible Word Study? A text study for the Lemma works fine, but the BWS comes up empty.

That's about it. I guess a screen shot would have been helpful from the start:
For the record, I did try changing the translation to NIV, since I saw that's what you were using, but it didn't affect the results.

I have near zero knowledge of Hebrew, but to me the transliteration and gloss of the lemma you use (na-hasin - dragon) seems to be different than the one Graham used (na-has - snake, with 31 hits).
Logos seems to have some lemmas in their database which are not used in the bible or are simply wrong - are you sure your dragon flies in the OT, and not the old snake?

Good catch! Sure enough, Logos added the "n." on my searches on not on Graham's. I removed them manually and got good results.
How did you call up your BWS, Graham? I right-clicked Genesis 3:4 in BHS/WHM 4.2, hovered on the lemma and then chose BWS (and also tried on my customized "My Bible Word Study," as you can see in the screenshot). Looks like this is a typo in the coding of that resource. Did you use a different one?

SESB was pretty consistent. Jastrow picked it up in the usage.

The different lemmas is due to the different morphologies - Westminster 4.2 vs. Logos Hebrew in ESV. You get the same problem with אמר 1.v (say) a little further in Gen 3.1.The information tool provides a translation.
