TIP of the day: How to find verse of the day art

There are four basic ways to find the Verse of the Day art. One requires Logos Now, the others do not.

Logos Now Method

  1. Under Tools ==> Library, open Media Browser.
  2. Enter a Passage and hit enter. I am using Hebrews 4 as the example.
  3. On the facets menu on the left hand side of the panel make the following selections:
  • Under Media Collection select "Logos Verse of the Day"
  • Under Language select English.

The results in the Media Browser window are:

Solution without Media Browser

Without using the Media Browser, one can get very similar results from the Media Collection section of the Passage Guide. For this example, I created a Passage Guide that contains nothing but the Media Collection section.

  1. Open the Passage Guide
  2. Enter the reference; again I am using Hebrews 4
  3. Expand the Media Collections section, if it is collapsed.

You will notice that this second method finds one more slide than the first method. This additional slide is the default background for the book of Hebrews in the Visual Copy tool.

Media Search

The Media Collections section of a Media Search will give results that precisely match those of the Media Browser:

  1. Open a Search panel
  2. Select Media
  3. Use as your Search Argument "Search All Media in All Resources for Hebrews 4"
  4. Expand the Media Collections section if it is collapsed

Use the Wiki

As long as someone is keeping it up to date, one can also use the index for the Verse of the day which is maintained in the Wiki at https://wiki.logos.com/Biblia_Verse_of_the_Day_images. Note the screen shot is of the top of the page, not of Hebrews.

Nice! I don't know if you're consciously picking up on Francis's "Tip of the day" suggestion back in 2009 (which he did several posts of) but we should be collecting things all into a "Tip of the day" wiki page with links.

I'd forgotten about that ... and I'm waiting to see the reaction before deciding how long it will continue. I'd like others to chime in when they run into a useful topic.  The sort of things that I hope get captured are often small - it is embarrassing to remember how long I used Logos before I learned that one could drag and drop a reference to open it. But clever approaches around Logos limitations are equally welcome. I agree a wiki page would be useful. We'll see how it develops.

Thank you VERY MUCH MJ Smith!!!

I don't have Logos Now, and don't intent to get it.  But the next 2 suggestions, especially the "Media Collections" one is the perfect answer I was looking for!

The Wiki page is not a complete list of all artwork.  I thought it was and was going off that until I found various passages it did not have but were still in the library.  But the "Media Collections" shows all artwork in a given chapter or book!

    Blessings!
