The Power of Collections

I am on a writing assignment this week (June 8-13, 2015) with the aim of completing volume 7 of my Swans series of biographical studies. This volume will contain Charles Spurgeon, George Muller, and Hudson Taylor.
My aim in the Introduction is to show the relationship between these men. Did they know each other? Did they meet? What did they think about each other's ministry. What an amazingly powerful tool in Logos to be able to take all the works of Charles Spurgeon, create a collection, and then search it for all the references to George Muller and Hudson Taylor.
If you hover over the key word, you can read a block of context. If you click on the title of the entry, you are taken to the beginning of the document. If you click on the key word you are taken to the place in the document where the key word occurs. These options are very helpful.
I read every place in Spurgeon where he had anything to say about these men. Likewise with the works of Hudson Taylor. I don't think the works of Muller are in Logos.
It has been a productive week so far and I don't know how I would have turned up all this information without the use of collections in Logos.

I'm very interested in reading about Spurgeon. I've read a lot of his work, especially sermons, but I've read little about him other than the casual references that are usually given with his works.
Make sure we get these in Logos format!

Great testimonial. While most of us have more modest projects, we, too, have found Logos to be a blessing on our studies and ministries. We can do so much more in the same time, explore more widely, and dig more deeply. It has transformed my study and preparation.
I will be interested in your book on these three 19th century spiritual giants. May you continue to make great progress.

I saw this post thinking, "Must be a different John Piper if he's sharing his middle name." [:D]
I love those biographical messages at the Pastors' Conference, and I have enjoyed these books too.
Dr. Piper, we try to be a helpful community here on the forums, so let us know if there is any way we can assist you.
Happy writing!

In addition to Spurgeon's works and Taylor's works, we do have George Müller's works.
