Discrepancies & inconsistencies between desktop and mobile app counts with mytag and rating
There is an issue with managing the Library in the ios apps when using filters.
I had to reinstall the beta version of the ios app and was downloading resources to rebuild my mobile library when I noticed that the results list of using mytag: or rating: did not produce all the results that I was expecting.
I checked this out on the iphone and on the ipad versions. Logos is the beta app and Verbum is the production app.
I have tagged a set of resources on the desktop as 'mobile' to that I could download all of this set by simply typing in 'mytag:mobile' and download the batch. (I have highspeed fibber.)
Here is the observations;
PC IPAD Verbum IPAD Logos (beta) Iphone Verbum Iphone Logos (beta)
Mobile tag 437 304 236 334 434
Rating:0 1 236 1057 129 17
Rating:1 209 206 125 206 207
Rating:2 730 645 606 731 695
Rating:3 1725 1677 906 1511 1677
Rating:4 177 174 76 175 174
Rating:5 79 79 79 79 79
Total (count) 2921 2833 2849 2833 2849
I understand that not all of the 2921 desktop resources are downloable, as there are some resources that the publisher will not allow or they are interactive resources.
But it looks like the tagging of the resources is not showing up properly except on the iphone Logos beta version of 4.6.3 (4.6.36052) (except rating:0)
It appears that the rating of 5 is working across all versions. (there are 3 resources that can not be downloaded)
It appears that the rating of 4 is mostly working except in the ipad Logos beta
The ratings of 0 seems to have the issue across all apps.
The other ratings should be consistent at least across the mobile apps as rating of 1, 2, and 3 probably account for items that can't be downloaded.

I don't have an answer on this but I have to ask. Do you really carry that many downloaded resources on your iPad and phone?

Hi Bruce
Just checking - I think the point you are making is that ratings are not showing, not that resources aren't downloading, Is that correct?
I have checked ratings on my PC, beta iPad Bible app and stable iPad Verbum app and can't reproduce what you are seeing. All the results I get seem reasonable (I don't have an iPhone to check)
Did you check this when the download was taking place?
If so, what happens if you leave it for a bit?

To bridge the comments above: Sometimes the app becomes corrupt and needs to be redownloaded. It sounds like the newest installation is most correct. Is that right? If so, you might need to delete the other apps and redownload. This is one of the reasons I suggest the judicious use of downloading resources.

The resources are able to be downloaded as they show up in the library list. But when you apply a filter such as rating:4 you don't get all of the rated resources to show up in the list. The same is true with the tag that I created yesterday, Mobile.
My reason was to have a seamless way to rebuild the mobile downloaded library.
I had downloaded and reinstalled the app yesterday so that doesn't seem to be the issue.

The beta version of the ipad and iphone are from last night (6/10/15). And both of those required one to delete and start over.
I haven't done a complete refresh of the Verbum but I can quickly do that.

Not that much on the iphone, but on the ipad I have the room (64gb). There are times when reading/studying where I am not connected so it gives an assurance that you can refer to the stuff that is 'important' to me. I have 1GB fiber internet so it comes down fast.

Strange - both iOS apps work the same for me and are close to the PC stats
PC has 34:
Both stable (Verbum) and beta (Bible!) apps have 33 - and the one that is missing is not available on mobile

I have gone back and deleted all four instances; Verbum - iphone/ipad and Logos Beta ipad/iphone.
It appears that the issue lies in the ipad beta as doing a clean install of the other three apps give proper counts.
Interesting on the ipad beta that the counts are different this time from the past one a few hours ago, but still wrong compared to the desktop. I add this info to my posting in the beta Faithlife group.

Bruce, did you let each app finish loading before switching to/from the other apps?

So I did another reinstall on the ipad and this time I left it setting for 15 minutes before I did anything to it. Set autolock to off so it stayed on. Now the counts are correct.
