Hebrew in Windows on a Mac?

I frequently have need to cut'n'paste Hebrew from LOGOS into MSWord or PowerPoint, etc. I am considering buying a new laptop soon, and I know many of friends and students have trouble with Hebrew on  Mac (specifically, when you copy and paste from LOGOS into Word, etc. the right-to-left goes all hay-wire and gets messed up into left-to-right). This is more of a hardware / non-Logos software question, I guess.

I want to know if any Logos users have experience running Logos in Windows (bootcamp) on a Macbook (or similar). How does the copy-paste and other Right/Left formatting work?

    Hi John:

    Rather than resort to running the Windows version of Word via Boot Camp on your Mac, have you considered using a Mac word processor program that supports right to left Hebrew?  A pastor friend uses the very capable "Mellel" word processor which has just come out with a new version and sells for $39.95 single license ($29.95 student).

    I do not have all those problems with MS Word 2011 for Mac. Mixing RTL and LTR on the same line do take some experimentation, forethought, and patience.

    I have never used Bootcamp, but I have used Windows with Parallels and Fusion. As far MS Word is concerned, you are using Windows, and it will perform as it does on a dedicated Windows machine—although it may run a bit slower.

    Mellel is an excellent application, but it does have a very steep learning curve.

    I haven't tried it for Hebrew, but you might also want to see if LibreOffice will work for Hebrew on Mac. It's free.
