[ACK]Pasting text in Mac won't add reference.

So when using the Windows version of Logos 6 (and prior versions) you can select a chunk of text and paste it into a word processor or OneNote and it will automatically add in the reference material.

This doesn't work on Mac. Is there something I need to do to enable this feature or is this feature simply missing for the Mac version? If it is missing, any word on if it will be added?

How much text are you pasting?

It needs to be ten words or more for the citation information to appear

OneNote is the primary app I'm using. However I have also tried Pages, Mail, and the Chrome web browser.

The only time pasting works proper (by automatically adding a reference) is when I paste into a Logos 6 note file.

I am using Windows and OneNote but I can confirm that other the name of the resource no other reference materials are being copied over. Copying in to MS Word gives all references. OneNote only shows the resource info.

It appears initially that we have an issue here somewhere.

I know that Pages and Mail do not support this feature. I do not have OneNote, but it DOES work in MSFT Office. It also works in Scrivener. I don't have OpenOffice installed currently, but it might work there as well. Here is a list of some free apps... maybe one will work.

I forgot to add... It also works in the OLD version of Pages... just not the new one.

By way of update, I installed Office 2016 Preview for Mac today and the citation function does work with Word, but still doesn't work with OneNote. However it does work with OneNote on Windows.

Okay, so something just occurred to me and it worked.

When pasting text into a document there are several different ways to do this:

1. Keep Source Formatting

2. Match Formatting

3. Keep Text Only

The default setting for Office programs to keep source formatting. This automatically tries to generate a footnote. Since OneNote doesn't have footnotes the citation doesn't get added into the note. However if you select "keep text only" it works just like it should!

For some reason on Windows it automatically inserts the citation as text, but on Mac I guess it's trying to insert it as a footnote and then fails to convert it to text.

Anyway, I'm very glad to see that I can simply paste as keep text only and solve my problem for OneNote.

I do not see it working properly with OneNote for Windows. The complete list of references in a resource is not coming across in OneNote as it does with MS Word. I tried all three methods - same result - missing details.

Apparently I have different copy settings for my Bible passages, because when I paste into Word (on Windows or Mac) it doesn't copy any reference material.

Try this: copy a chunk of text from a book, besides the Bible, in Word and then in OneNote and see if you have the same issue.
