Our parish encourages members of a class to use different translations unlike those on these forums who refer to the "translation their church uses". It is easy enough in Logos/Verbum to set up multiple Bibles so that the teacher has copies of all the translations brought to class at their fingertips. What is not always easy is to explain the word of a version with which you aren't terribly familiar. To solve this problem, I suggest:
- Faithlife make a conscious effort to have at least one ecumenical/academic study Bible for each major translation. The RSV and NRSV are the major gap.
- That words or phrases discussed in the Study Bible the underlined in the Bible itself (color coded for multiple study Bibles) and that clicking on the underline bring up the study Bible. That gives the teacher quick access to an explanation when a question is asked.
