The home page is overwhelming. The chief culprit is pre-pubs. I counted 86 pre-pubs this morning. Many of them have been on the home page for more than a week. They seem to be rearranged randomly each day, so I never know when something new has been added and might be missed if I don't scan the whole page.
Some suggestions for streamlining the home page:
1) Leave pre-pub articles (as presently shown) on the home page for no more than one week. Those that are older could be listed together in a column entitled "More Pre-Pubs" or "In Case You Missed It," showing just the resource titles. It should be obvious that they are older entries.
2) Another option: See that pre-pubs are always displayed together with the newest on top; older entries get pushed toward the bottom. That way it would be easy to tell what has been newly added day by day. Do the same with community pricing, and various blogs--such that there is a pre-pub region on the home page, a Faithlife blog region, etc.
3) Categorizing pre-pubs by broad topics--perhaps faith communities, resource type (commentaries, etc.), or other broad topics--and allowing the user to select/deselect those he wishes to have displayed could be helpful as well.
