Two Logos Folders, how to consolidate them?

Hi,

I was doing some house keeping for my Windows 8.1 environment and discovered that I have 2 Logos folders, I have no idea how and when that happened Sad

  • Logos (with only the Install folder - which happened to hold the latest update scripts)
  • Logos4 (with everything needed for Logos 6, but holds the older update scripts)

Question: How do I consolidate them into a single Logos folder (Logos or Logos4)?

Initially, I tried to delete "Logos" folder as it only holds the Install folder, however was unsuccessfully. So I investigate further to discover that it actually holds the latest update scripts.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

JK

I believe that this occurs when the installation history on one computer involves going through more than one version of Logos; for instance, if you had Logos 4 or 5 installed before you upgraded to 6.

One way to clean house, so to speak, is (1) do a backup based on the instructions for quick re-installation found here: https://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers. This will allow you to reinstall Logos without having to download and index every again from scratch. (2) Uninstall Logos from your computer and make sure all the folders are removed from the computer. (3) Reinstall Logos afresh using the procedure in the link above.

    Francis,

Thanks for reply ... Yes I came from Logos 3, 4, 5 and now 6. I have close to 10,000 resources, so, the resistance to re-install from ground up on my Windows VM. I am prepared to take some risks to edit some registries if someone can guide me [:)] and if it mess up, I will re-install from scratch.

    Thanks.

I have done the re-installation procedure a number of times: if you follow the steps indicated on the page linked to above, it should be a rather painless process.
