What is Faithlife's policy? Is the software DRM-free, or is it protected and if so, how does it effect Logos users?
What is Faithlife's policy, is the software protected and if so, how does it apply to Logos users?
In effect Logos files, as I understand it, offer a top level of DRM, to my knowledge there is no way for one to strip anything away and have a transportable file (the one way I could think of is through copying to a file, but at that point it would cease to be a Logos file). If Logos files lacked protection (yes the DRM is handled not on the files per say but in a centralized database, but the effects are identical), there would be unscrupulous people passing around copies.... now I wish there was a simple way to give or sell a book that was fully automated, but this is not in FL advantage. They do allow a transfer with a $25 fee but this virtually means no one can read a good book and sell it to a friend or even give it to a friend since the transfer fee would likely make the savings vanish.

You can transfer most titles to kindle. thats pretty nice.
You can also copy and past text out of a book an unlimited amount.
I think their is a limit on a kindle book.
My main concern I guess is how many devices can I install Logos on, not on those of others which I wouldn't do, but on my own. Is there a limit on how many times the software can be downloaded? If there is a limit and I exceed it will I lose access? If I buy a new computer do I have to uninstall Logos on the old one first before I can do so on the new one to stay under the limit, if there is one? Do I have to pay a $25 fee to install it on another computer, as Dan mentioned? Thanks for the replies.

There is no limit on how many machines you can download the software for your own personal use

No

No, you can install it on the new computer and leave it running on the old one if you like

No - the handling fee is if you are transferring a licence for a resource to someone else
That answered my questions. Thank you very much, Graham.
