BUG: Updating expired credit card leaves "Invalid expiration date" message

Tried to check out tonight, but my credit card had expired.
So I clicked Edit to update my credit card's expiration date to the new one, and then clicked Save, and it accepted that change.
But back at the checkout page which had failed, I was still seeing the red warnings:
Nevertheless, I was able to click Place Order and the order went through. When I checked my billing info in my profile later, the expiration date had indeed been updated.
So the bug is that the checkout confirmation page still shows "Expired! Your default card is expired. Please update your payment information" and a big nasty red "Invalid expiration date" warning bar across the page after I've finished editing/updating my expiration date. It shouldn't.
