How do I install logos 4 to a second computer
Here's a quicker way so you don't have to download all the resources again, but note that Method 3 is the safest:

Thanks Rosie, but I've downloaded the file several times and tried to run it...but without success. Any thoughts?
I just got a new laptop this week and did transfer. These are the instructions I received from Logos and they worked very smoothly. The entire proces including reindexing my Platinum collection took less than six hours. I was very pleased.
- Go to www.logos.com and log into your web account.
- Click on the Order History tab.
- In the My Orders page, click on order number _________. (you might want to call to verify, but probably latest number)
- Click on the appropriate orange Download button – for PC or Mac.
- The program will download and put the icon on your Desktop.
- Click on the icon. You’ll be asked to sign in; use the same e-mail address and password that you use to log into your web account.
- Logos 4 will now start Preparing Your Library as it downloads all your books. This process can take several hours.
- Once the books are downloaded, Logos 4 will then start ‘Indexing’ the books ~ cataloguing nearly every word in every book and creating a separate file which the program will use for searching (enabling the program to search very quickly).
· Indexing will also take some time; you will be able to read your books at this point but not perform any searches in Logos 4 until indexing has finished.
· While Logos 4 is indexing, a Logos 4 icon will appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen, to the left of the time. You can use this icon to pause the indexing process for up to four hours if it’s causing your computer to run slowly. When the icon disappears, Logos 4 is ready to use.
· Be sure the computer isn’t shut down and does not go to sleep during the download and indexing process. You can change your computer’s ‘sleep mode’ by clicking on Start > Control Panel > Power Options.

Please explain exactly what you did prior to running Logos4Setup.exe. It will also help for you to turn ON permanent logging http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging (upload as per Uploading Logs).
Hi Gene! Several hours? But...I already have all my books backed up from my other computer, why would I want to download them again?
Hi Dave. What can I tell you...I turned the computer on, I tapped "Logos 4 Setup" program.'
Oh, also, I did go and turn on the permanent logging, but it didn't make a difference.
Ok. Delete the Logos4 folder at C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Logos4 (see the wiki if running Windows XP) and try again.
Did it download any programs or did the error occur straight after running Setup.exe? A potential workaround can be found here -- http://community.logos.com/forums/t/9387.aspx (you will find other threads if you search for "runtime error").
it runs for about 5 seconds, then stops and gives me the error message.
Gary, you will have to take this up with Tech Support as they can interface with your computer if necessary to solve the problem.
