Installing New Resources?

Greetings:

I cannot find any way to install a new resource in Logos for Mac 4. I tried finding a command line to use "update resources," but it would only search for that phrase, nothing more. I'm concerned as well, since the item (Galaxie Software's Theological Journal Library CD Volume 12) says on the Read Me on the disk that you have to install version 3 of the Libronics engine first, then have version 4 read the resource. Am I just out of luck until a much later Beta version for now?

ok, I am confused and frustrated.

I have the original languages disk in my mac optical drive.

I tried following the steps. All I see is my old resources from LBX 3 stuff Mac 1.22

All I see on the disk is the application no folder of resources. The app on the disk is very old alpha.

Mac 1.2.2 is not seeing the resouces to install either.

So, please, a step by step guide to install a base collection to work under the alpha.

Let me see if I understand you: Are you trying to install this base package into Logos 4 Mac or Logos Mac 1.2.2? If you are trying to install into Logos 4, download the latest alpha from the link on the release notes at the top of the forum. Install that and run the "Scan Optical Media" command in the command bar near the magnifying glass button. Logos should scan the disk an install any missing resources. If it is a matter of updating licenses in 1.2.2, you need to sychronize your licenses in 1.2.2 before 1.2.2 will detect the resources and install them (the installer hides locked resources by default.)

I would like to use OL in either product.

Yes, I typed in "Scan Optical Media" hit return and relaunched a14. it only prepared library but not listed the new stuff.

yes, I ran sync lic in 1.2.2 but again only listed my old files from years ago.

The OL was a gift, I did not buy it myself is that part of the problem?? Does that person need to transfer the data to me now??

Sigh....I find not having a smooth way to install new stuff very unhelpful...

oh and tried to install the version on the dvd disk and it died just as it came up. So am going back to a14....

Okay, you need to call customer service on Monday. Tell them the situation, and they should transfer the license for you. Then Logos 4 ought to download the most up to date version of the OL resources from the Logos Servers.

Thank you. a14 is installing all the books now. But I was not given a chance to tell a14 which books to install. So how do I delete books already installed? Btw, I had to get a version 3 disk to install under 1.2.2, sigh. Logos sure wants to eat harddisk space.

L-4 will automatically download all resources for which you have a license on the Logos server. If you have access to the Windows version (same license covers both), you can hide unwanted resources in the Program Settings menu, but that feature is not yet implemented in the Mac version.

Michael is correct that you will need to contact CS, but I think they will need to hear from the seller.
