Spamming

Why not require new posters to have their first few posts vetted before allowing them full posting reign? Some of these are doing 150 spam posts at a time.

Or if manually reviewing each post is too time consuming for staff to handle, perhaps they could put a limit of no more than X posts within Y minutes. If X and Y were chosen well, it could at least slow down the spammers without significantly affecting legitimate posters.

Just to short-circuit this, these "how to stop spam" discussions have been held numerous times on these forums. A search will find relevant threads. I'm confident that every suggestion that people are likely to post now has been suggested before.
IMO, the situation has been very much under control for the last ~2 years up until the last couple of weeks.
