Hebrew Morphology visual filters

Hi Everyone,

I have recently tried to apply some visual filters to my BHS so that I can highlight nouns, verbs etc. Essentially the first step I want to be able to do is apply different highlighting to nouns by gender and number (a new colour for each combination). This is problematic for me so far because I do not understand Logos' reasoning behind their tagging. Let me give an example.

אֶרֶץ is classed as a feminine noun in my grammar, as well as in Bibleworks and Accordance, but in Logos it has an unassigned gender tag. Does anyone know the reasoning for this or a way that I could still apply this tagging? Can I change the default morphology DB used for visual filtering? I'd hate to think that I can't apply simple filters like this considering Logos is the only software enabling visual filters.

The BHS does not use Logos Morphology. It uses Westminster or WIVU. The morph results will be based on the morphological database used by the resource.

Thanks for the response. I should mention I am using the SESB BHS 2.0 from the German Bible package. I have attached a screenshot of what I can see. As you can see, Erets is not highlighted in the morphological search using SESB Hebrew Morphology, nor is it highlighted by the coloured visual filters. I do not have the option to change it to Westminster or WIVU.

I've checked it in BHS, which uses WIVU, and "erets" isn't highlighted as feminine either.

Biblia Hebraica Westminster v4.18 (and the older v4.2) regard erets as feminine i.e. lemma:אֶרֶץ@n?f

Logos and BHS/WIVU morphologies have a largely unassigned gender.

Since מאור is masculine even though the plural form is מארת as can be seen by the masculine declension of the adjective which modifies it - הגדלים, and since ארץ is feminine, I suggest you use a different morphologically tagged text. This text you are using can only cause confusion.

Correct.

Don't forget AFAT. It marks every occurrence as feminine.

What texts are compatible with AFAT? From some of the other forum articles I got the impression this was not possible for most (all?) texts since the update from Logos 4.
