why is Matthew 17: 21 been removed from my bible on this sight and also Matthew 18:11 this is a shame and God has ordered us against adding to or taking away from his word!!!!!!!!

    Welcome to the forums Penny. Sorry that you are upset. Matthew 17:21 is a textual criticism problem. Here is a quote from Metzger's "A Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament"

    Since there is no satisfactory reason why the passage, if originally present in Matthew, should have been omitted in a wide variety of witnesses, and since copyists frequently inserted material derived from another Gospel, it appears that most manuscripts have been assimilated to the parallel in Mk 9:29.

    There can be little doubt that the words ἦλθεν γὰρ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου (ζητήσαι καὶ) σῶσαι τὸ ἀπολωλός are spurious here, being absent from the earliest witnesses representing several textual types (Alexandrian, Egyptian, Antiochian), and manifestly borrowed by copyists from Lk 19:10. The reason for the interpolation was apparently to provide a connection between ver. 10 and verses 12–14.

    Simply put the editors of most Bibles don't consider these verses to be part of the original and therefore didn't include the verse. They believe that they were added by scribes when they were copied.

    Welcome to the forums Penny. Some translations (ESV) does not insert the verse if it is not in the earliest manuscripts that currently exist.

    Welcome to the forums, Penny. Let me give you the non-technical answer - your Logos edition doesn't contain it because the hard-copy book didn't have it. Logos adds tags but it doesn't edit the resources. What you see in Logos generally matches what you see in the book itself although some books have some reformatting to fit electronic form requirements ... and occasionally images are missing when Logos was able to get copyrights to the text but not to all images.
