Although the book has a new title to reflect its more academic focus, it’s a fourth edition of Matthews’s Manners and Customs in the Bible, 3rd Edition. The old edition is pictured below. You may recognize that book, it’s sold well over 100k copies in print, but it’s never been available electronically until now.

What distinguishes this volume from similar resources, for instance the Packer/Tenney/White volume from Thomas Nelson?

Dave,Thanks for the question. I'll have to plead ignorance as I don't know the book you mention. From a quick glance, it looks like the Nelson book is about twice the size. Generally speaking, the Matthews book is brand new, it just released, so it would be a bit more up-to-date on current scholarship.0
