Why does the "My books" section appear (and take processing time) in searches that clearly exclude it i.e. are on a single (or set) of standard resource?
Historical reasons, mainly. The search views weren't coded to take much account of the search parameters other than type. Search views haven't been design reviewed for a while, and are definitely due. Can't say when.
Logos 7.3 Beta 2 still has "Your Books" section with 0 results:
