Not able to shut down my laptop

My MacBook Air performed an update.  When I try to shutdown, it tells me that Logos 6 will not allow it to be shut down.  I try to quit and nothing happens.  I tried to move to trash and still nothing.  I cannot shut down my laptop at all.  This is very disturbing.

What can I do to correct this problem?

There are tips here on how to "kill" an application (that is, forcibly turn it off when it has stopped responding).

I would suggest doing that, restarting your computer to allow it to complete updates if need be and then see whether the problem is gone or happens again.

    If all else fails....

Quit every other application just leaving the miscreant running.

Press and hold the power key 'till the machine switches off.

Welcome Donna! [:)] Sorry you are having troubles. [:s]

Either of the two suggestions should work. I would start with a "force quit," which is something that would be good for you to know about anyways. Sometimes safari needs a "force quit." Forcing a shut down is ok to do when you have to, but should be a last resort.
