So now that we can set our library to show only a certain collection, does anyone see much value in hiding resources anymore?

Hiding resources wasn't intended as a library management feature; it was designed to solve one problem: "This is a resource I never want to see again. Make it go away." (See previous discussion.)

This has certain benefits:

  • It won't be downloaded. (E.g., on a new computer or if it's updated.)
  • It won't take up space on your disk.
  • It won't be indexed.
  • It won't show up in search results of your Entire Library.
  • It won't appear in Guide sections.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
