I just found hard evidence that notes actually support charts/tables. I'd be very happy if this could be turned into "real" charts with vertical and horizontal lines:
Logos 4 does not support images in note files, so when you copy the text of a table into a note, only the text can come over, not the lines. If the chart or table itself is an image, it cannot be pasted into a note. A resource can have examples of both types. If you can right-click in a table to select it, it is an image. If you have to left click and drag from the start of the table to the end to select it, it is text.

I am painfully aware of this.

But when I highlight the note (the lower image) it is evident that the note does know about the lines - it is simply not displaying them. This is what surprised me and led to my suggestion. It implies that it would be easier to add the function than I had thought.
Thanks for taking the time to respond.
I'll submit your request. ~ Melissa

Back in 4.0 I noticed that when I pasted a table from Word 2007 the lines did come over but disappeared once the note file was saved/closed it disappeared.

That's the behavior I've seen as well.
We will look into supporting richer table editing (including border customization) for a future release.
