I have several books which are on visible in my Desktop Library but not in my iPad library. Why would this be?  I am particularly interested in my copy of Thomas Vincent's "A Family Instructional Guide."

eBooks are subject to licensing agreements from the publisher. Faithlife's philosophy is that you should ALWAYS have access to ALL of your resources on ALL of your devices... but not all publisher's agree. FL enables as many resources on mobile as possible. When a resource is unavailable on mobile, it is generally due to 1) licensing agreements which disallow this usage or 2) technical reasons.

I am particularly interested in my copy of Thomas Vincent's "A Family Instructional Guide."

I am unfamiliar with this resource. I found something in pre-pub. Do you have a link? Is it part of a larger collection?

For clarification: At no time do devices sync between one another in the FL ecosystem. Rather, all devices sync with the cloud.

    Thank you for your reply.

My copy of a Family Guide was obtained through the ministry of the E4 Group back in 1999. I'm not sure their books were ever a part of the FL eco system. How do users who create their own ebooks get them to sync with the cloud?

I have on occasion heard people mention those resources, but I honestly have no idea. Some resources from outside vendors ended up in the FL catalog and users received the Logos edition... at least in some cases. I have no idea if that was the case for these or not.

How do users who create their own ebooks get them to sync with the cloud?

Personal books are created using the "personal book builder" tool under the "tools" menu. Books are "compiled" by using a Microsoft Word (.docx) file. The metadata for a created book (title, author, etc.) automatically syncs to the cloud, but the compiled book must be manually uploaded (simple as pressing a button). Note, however, that personal books are not currently available on mobile. You can gain access to personal books on other computer installations, but not on mobile devices.
