New feature: Exegetical Guide
We've just deployed an early version of the Exegetical Guide to the Logos/Verbum Web App.
This release contains the Word by Word section with text from the Lexham English Bible Reverse Interlinear.
Currently, we display the original words, glosses, morphology, and links to your lexicons.
Your feedback will help us determine the order in which we implement the remaining Exegetical Guide features, which will be shipped as they are completed.

Thanks for continued progress.
Are you focussing on improving this section of the guide next, or adding new sections?
If the former, the features I miss most in this implementation of this section of the guide:
- The English text at the top of the section
- The ability to choose Bible version
- The ability to limit to lemmas under a particular number of occurrences.
If the latter, I'd like to see the Textual Variants section next.
BTW, I think it would be better to load more than three leixcons at a time. I think it should be at least 5.
There also seems to be a bug in that not all lexicons are listed. DBL, TDNT, EDNT are obvious ones that are missing in action.

We will most likely focus on improving this section before we move onto the others—but that plan is subject to change based on the feedback we get.

The choice of three is based on the current behavior of the desktop. We will, however, remove the requirement to keep clicking the "more" link by showing all resources after the first click.

Is it possible that these are present, but lower in the list? The section does not yet support resource priorities.

It was the multi-clicking that was most annoying, so that will be fine.

Yes, you're quite right. I was confused because most of my prioritisation obviously matches the default, so it looked as though they were missing.

Based on this early look I'd encourage you to push on with this guide. I ran a sample on Genesis 1 and it generated very quickly.
What Hebrew and Greek texts are used for the guide? Will I eventually be able to choose a text?
I hope you will provide View Settings in a further release.
It will be nice when prioritization is supported, but opening all the lexicons with a single click will help.

It comes from the text associated with the Lexham English Bible's Reverse Interlinear (I'm not sure offhand which texts those are). The ability to choose a resource is planned.

Planned—at some point.

Done. (go try it out!)

I would definitely like to see the rest of the word by word section finished first. But I'm keenly interested in launching Bible Word Studies from the guide. Of course this means implementing BWS so....
After that word by word section, please focus on the Textual variants section. Grammars would be nice as well but only second to the textual variants.
To Summarize
- Finish Word by Word
- Textual Variants section
- Grammars
- Implement BWS.

Wait... do you mean one click on each one to open one at a time? Or do you mean I can click somewhere and pop them all open?

There is a 'more' button at the end of the initial list of lexicons. Click on 'more' and all the remaining lexicons appear. (Upon release the more button opened another short list of lexicons with a fresh more button below. Now we click once instead of multiple times to see the whole list.)
Thanks, David!

Ah, I guess I only noticed the "after".
Thanks for the explanation Mark.

Thanks for this update. The web app is the main reason I subscribe to Logos Now, so the more features the better.
I echo the others when it comes to the extra support. I really like the grammars section.
Also, I was really impressed with its speed. I know it's not generating as much info as the software, but it was still nice to see that it was quick. Great work.

Just added another update to have sympathetic highlighting between the translated text and the original language text.
Clicking on a word will scroll to that word with more info.

-SethWorks as advertised here. Thanks for the updates! Even more so since I'm on my Chromebook this morning. :-)
Logos on Linux creeps closer and closer.[:D]

Shipped another update to the word by word section bringing it closer to parity with Logos Desktop.
The translated text verse should be shown next to each individual lemma, with the corresponding translated word of the verse made bold.0 -

I just tried using the Exegetical Guide and it would not work. I typed a passage into the reference box and hit Enter and nothing happened. I tried it in Firefox and Edge.
Is the server offline?

I can confirm that pressing Enter does not work—however, the report will generate if you select one of the autocomplete options.
We'll get this fixed soon.

You have to select the suggestion from the dropdown menu. Then press Enter.
That said, I am seeing some errors. For example Revelation 9:12 is giving a server error at the moment.

I actually was doing that but failed to make that clear. I just tried it again (John 1:1-4) and it did not work.

I can also confirm that this function does not work with the Edge browser either (I was using FireFox). The Passage Guide still works, just not the Exegetical Guide.

So it is. Thanks for the report! (it's my hope that we'll have a fix for this out before the end of the day, but nothing in this statement should be construed as a promise or even an estimate [:)])

The submit form on exegetical guide and passage guide should now work without selecting an item out of the autcomplete list.
Also, the reported server error should be fixed.

This is now available. There is a resource selector in the word by word section similar to desktop's to choose between different available Bible versions.Mark Barnes said:The ability to choose Bible version
