Software Crashes Upon Opening

My software does not open on my mac. I even deleted the old software and installed the Logos 6 software. It did not fix the problem. When I click on the app it gives me the box that says "signing in" for 4 seconds and then disappears. The app remains closed.

FYI, I have restarted my mac as wel. Lol.

It looks like you have a corrupted database file, but I am unsure which one. My best guess is your ErrorReportManager.db file. With Logos closed, try deleting it and allowing Logos to rebuild it upon opening. You can find the file at the path below. Before you do that, however, it might not hurt to try opening to a blank layout. Press and hold the command key immediately upon startup.

It's much more likely the corrupt file is /Users/shannonc/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/3obz1wdo.k5x/LibraryCatalog/catalog.db

If you delete that, Logos will re-create it next time you run the program. It will take several seconds to rebuild (minutes if you have a very large library), and you'll see a "Preparing Your Library" message while it does so.

Shannon - I should have added in case you didn't know... the user library is hidden by default. You can google for ways to reveal it, but one way is to press and hold the "option" key while viewing the "go" menu of a finder window.

The last line of crash log files will almost always mention ErrorReportManager.db. It just means that the error has been recorded in Logos' internal database so it can be sent to Faithlife for analysis.

OK. So what caused you come to the conclusion you did? All I see is some generic lines which have a path to a FL employee's computer!

I now see what you see above... but at one time you told me to look for Unhandled exceptions. When I did, I saw this:

There are many databases. The line you found is the line indicating where the problem occurred, but doesn't say which database. In order to determine which database, you need to look down a few lines until you find something that makes use of a database. In this case, 3 lines down you'll see LibraryCatalog referenced (and on the line following that, it indicates that it's trying to "VerifyExistingDatabase".

Hopefully that's helpful for future log readings.
