What is the discount/upgrade policy when a new edition for a book is released?

Here is the book I want to buy:
Encountering the Old Testament: A Christian Survey

Here is the problem: The current edition (2nd, 2008) is $50, the 3rd edition (2015) is in pre-pub for $45.

I would like to buy the book now, because I am leading a Bible study that is starting in a few weeks (24 week class), and this book comes highly recommended. The 3rd edition pre-pub may be 3-4 months away from completion.

What does Logos do for customers when a new edition of a book comes out?

A new edition is generally treated as a new resource. I have never seen or known of Logos offering an upgrade price for a new edition (I could be wrong though). If Logos upgrades a current edition (typos, linkages, etc.), that will usually be provided free of charge.

Also, the 3-4 month projection of completion may not be accurate. I have seen some to be in the gathering interest or almost there state for years. :-)

Logos takes your money and permits for a certain period of time a refund....but older editions are not typically exchanged.

A well known exception to that rule is the "inaugural addresses of US presidents". That one gets updated free of charge every 4 years! I don't know whether there are any other resources though...
