How to easily cite paraphrases of Logos resources in MS Word?

Hi,

I'm starting school soon and I have a few questions. I know you can copy and paste a quote from Logos and it will automatically be added to footnotes in MS Word. How do I cite a paraphrase I make of a Logos quote, not being able to copy and paste like a direct quote? Also, is there a way to add my Logos bibliography to Word so that I can easily cite inline during the writing process, rather than having to manually enter the information into the word citation tool? Thanks!

Thank you both for the information, it seems the best way is to keep my sources organized in Logos, pulling them out as I use them, and placing them into the Word Document. Then, at the end including the works cited page which can be pasted from Logos.

There is not a good, efficient way to footnote indirect quotes that I know of. I usually select and copy the text I am citing and paste it into Word. This provides me with a footnote that includes the exact page number I am citing (assuming the resource is tagged for page numbers). I then delete the text I pasted, leaving only the footnote. It would be nice is Logos offered an option to allow you to select text, right-click, and do an indirect citation that would strictly add the footnote in Word and nothing else, but this functionality does not currently exist. You can copy the citation from the resource's information panel, but then you still have to create a footnote in Word, paste the citation, lookup the page number, and add it to the citation.

When you write information or ideas from a source in your own words, cite the source by adding an in-text citation at the end of the paraphrased portion.. Include a full in-text citation with the author name and page number (if there is one).

Add citations to your document

Click at the end of the sentence or phrase that you want to cite, and then on the References tab, in the Citations & Bibliography group, click Insert Citations.
From the list of citations under Insert Citation, select the citation you want to use.
