Book Addition Questions

When I receive the monthly emails mentioning books added to Logos Cloud (not Logos Now), are the books mentioned in that email only available for the month, or are they added "indefinitely" to my Logos Cloud library? I'm thinking those are indefinitely, whereas it's the ones in Now that are the monthly samplers.

Another thing Logos Cloud could do on any "longtime" books that are removed from Logos Cloud would be to send a notice out when those books are no longer available in Logos Cloud (I'm not talking about sampler books for a month, I'm talking about books that once were part of Cloud then later become no longer part of Cloud) and offer customers the option to direct purchase those books from Logos (if Logos wanted to include a coupon for a small discount off the direct purchase of the book as well as a means to "relieve" the experience of having to direct purchase the book as well, that'd be a nice plus.

The resources added to Logos Cloud become part of the Cloud library. As you know the Logos Cloud library is an ever-changing library that for the most part grows, but at times will have resources removed due to contractual obligations. There's a small chance that any title could be withdrawn, but that's a small chance and an occurrence that we hope happens very few times.

At the moment, there is no plan of letting customers know when we remove certain resources for a number of reasons. We hope those occasions are very rare.

Thanks for the info. It would be good to work on changing the system to notify customers if they'll be losing certain access to Logos Cloud resources in the event it ever does happen. That way, customers are prepared for it and know what their options are (such as the ability to direct purchase the resource). It would be better than having customers simply wake up and realize a resource has simply become missing from their Logos Cloud library one day.

I also pondered last night on how Faithlife/Logos can maintain an online list of resources included in Logos Cloud and make it easy to keep it updated each month. What I would like to see is Faithlife/Logos build a database of all of the resources currently available in Logos Cloud, tag them with the various Cloud levels they're included in, then simply build an HTML web front that displays the results of the database. The end user would be able to sort the list of resources by author, title, or Cloud level, and have an instant "comparison chart" between the various Cloud levels similar to base package comparisons.

As new resources are added each month, someone could quickly add the new resources to the database, tag them with the Cloud levels they're in, then the results would instantly be available on the HTML web front without having to go through a ton of web editing work each month,

In the event a resource is removed from Logos Cloud, someone could quickly go into the database, search for the title, and with one click, remove it from the database, and it would disappear from the HTML front.

It would be great if someone at Faithlife could tackle this project, maybe during the Hackathon or on one's own time, as it would immensely benefit those interested in signing up for Logos Cloud.

The problem with what Phil mentioned is that services like Netflix, Spotify, etc., give subscribers access to "everything" with a flat monthly rate. If Logos ever offered an "all access Cloud package" that gave me access to the "whole enchilada", I could then care less about a comparison chart since I'd know anything I'd search for at Logos.com would be unlocked and available to me in my subscription. I'd just have to take a couple seconds, run the search, and see if Logos offered it in general. If they did, I'd know I'd have it.

Logos Cloud is a totally different story. There's multiple "tiers" of services people can subscribe to, and it is tough to recommend a tier people go for without them knowing what resources are included at that tier. Even though they are "subscribing" versus direct purchasing, the people I would recommend Logos Cloud to would either be people looking at a base package replacement if they've never gone with a Logos base package and want a more cost-effective way to gain access to Logos, or for existing base package owners who want to "top off" their library with a Cloud subscription similar to topping off one's library with a bundle. In both instances, they want to see what they're getting for the money.

The simplified comparison chart you showed on the one page is excellent, and it helps to know about what "major" resources are included in the different Cloud tiers. However, I would like to see more. The PDF's what Jacob created were extremely helpful, but those are difficult to maintain I know.

The customers I'd recommend Cloud to would be looking for specific resources and want to know what is the most cost-effective tier they could gain access to those resources on. Hence why I'm still recommending a full-scale comparison chart. :-)

Also, after reading Phil's post, I do recommend more integration between LogosCloud.com and Logos.com. I wouldn't totally separate the two services as Faithlife is doing now, but offer Logos Cloud as a "subscription track" on the main Logos.com so customers landing on Logos.com can decide between direct purchasing a base package or subscribing to Logos Cloud. Think of it as a "Microsoft Office Comparison": direct purchase Office or subscribe to Office 365.

I love Logos Cloud and see the potential and benefits it has. I'm just sending all the feedback your way to ensure it becomes the marketing success it can become. :-)
