Multiview Resources

I saw this come down the line in Logos Now today:
Multiview Resources
Add multiple translations of the Bible or even commentaries in the same panel with the Multiview Resources tool. The resources you bring together will share the same location, visual filters, and search results. Study original-language texts side by side with English translations. Search for a specific word and both texts will filter down to your search results. This tool treats multiple resources as one—and the applications to your study are endless.
Is this basically the equivalent of "parallel panes" in Accordance? If so, I am 100% thrilled.
Thanks!

Been awhile since I used Accordance, but as I remember that feature, Multiple Resources is somewhat equivalent. In my subjective opinion, MR is better. The host resource controls scrolling in the clients, but each client resource can be scrolled individually without affecting the other columns. then, when you scroll the host, all clients snap to the same location. So, try to choose a host that has every verse/subject.
There is a bug in Beta 3 which causes a crash if you attempt to open one of the clients in another panel. Believe FL has promised a fix for Beta 4.
Right now, I have created two sets—one for Study Bibles and one for concise commentaries. Contemplating creating windows for lexicons.
To use this feature effectively, you may need plenty of screen acreage.

Is this related to the beta version?

Love what I see. I'm not on beta, but when it gets pushed to the stable edition, I can't wait to try it!

I'm LOVING this new feature!
Two tweaks would improve it...
1 - Allow reordering of resources via drag-n-drop, either in the tile itself or even just in the drop-down menu. Currently one needs to deselect and reselect in the desired order.
2 - Allow double clicking on the border between two resources to equalize the width of the two (similar to current "full" tiles).

The only draw back is- I would like to create certain guides- but it does not keep the volumes you setup unless you do it as a layout- this needs to change- the potential is out of this world if you could create all types of guides and keep the resources attached to the guide.

Do agree about drag and drop. Accordance does this now, and it is handy. Would make re-arranging resources a breeze in MVR view.

Every time I open one of the Bibles I attached to Multiple Resources as hosts, they retain the MR setup. You can also save the setup as a Favorite.

Yes they stay implemented in MR with the resource- but if you setup a "guide template" with them in it- none of the resources stay attached to guide.
What I'm saying is with the MR function in place- bibles, lexicons, dictionaries- if left attached to the "template" would be a step in the right direction for creating core study resources that are attached to the guide- instead of having to save a bunch of templates in layouts in order for this to happen.

Sorry, I must have misunderstood. Have not tried attaching MR to a guide. Interesting concept, but don't know if I would use it.

Thanks, Reuben. Both of these are on our list. For #1, we'll probably do dragging within the menu before dragging the panes, just for the sake of expediency. For #2, it would probably not be double-click but hovering over the line like other movable borders, eg, Table of Contents pane.

In other apps, dragging a separator will allow you to resize it. Double-clicking a separator will automatically resize it — which in many cases (including in Logos panels), will resize so that the two panels either side are equal widths. I think that's what Reuben had in mind (in addition to the manual resizing you describe).

Ah, of course.

Thanks for your response Eli, and thanks for the clarification Mark!
The manual resizing THANKFULLY already works (at least on Mac), it's just the automatic equalization that would be handy. [:D]
