For those who are looking for a somewhat reasonably priced ($197) Android tablet, you might try looking at the NextBOOK Ares 11.6" currently available from Walmart. The same hardware (as best I can tell) is also available with Windows 8.1 (and upgradeable to Windows 10 - see the Flexx model) is also available, but because it has an Intel quad core Atom processor, I decided to skip the Windows version. The tablet has 64 GB storage, WiFi, BlueTooth, hosted USB ports, and offers 8-9 hours battery life (I tested this one myself).  It runs Android 5 - Lollipop so it appears to be relatively up to date.  

I was looking for a tablet to replace my 10" Nook HD which had served me well, but was running out of memory and could not run some more recent apps. This machine seems to fit my needs. Perhaps it will fit yours as well.
