The Ask the Author feature is fairly handy... until you try to ask a question.
When you type your question and hit "post" you get ... nothing. For a long time. Until finally (a minute later???) you can see that your question posts.
That's great if you trust the button. I don't. Others clearly don't either because I've seen evidence of different folks hitting "post" over and over again with the result that they ask their one question multiple times.
The problem, by the way, isn't new: Ask the Author - over and over and over again
