Would we ever see a day where the community forums are available in an android app, the regular bible app maybe?
I would love to see the forums available in an app although I'd want it to be an Apple App too. Over the years I've often tried to use a browser on my phone to participate on the forums but that is a frustrating experience as it is not easy to navigate.
I change apps frequently so sometimes I use the Bible app, Study Bible App, Verbum App, Vyrso App, and Noet App. I always have the Noet app and rotate the other ones because my reading plans are available. Currently I am using the Verbum app, but I think it's the Bible app that has the store. Go to the store and sign in and you can go to the forums.
Matt, I know that we can use the forums on our phones through our browser once we sign in but what I'm talking about is using them on an app that is specifically designed to maximize the experience and make it easier to use.
Bruce I am not talking about the browser. One of the apps (I think the Bible app) has the store on it. You can go to the store in the app and go to the forums.
It's true. I just tried it. However, worse experience than using the browser! When I press the "back" button, I want to go to the previous page, and not leave the shop...
These forums will eventually be replaced by something better, so I don't expect anything custom will make it into the Android or iOS apps to make them available in-app.

Can you elaborate on "eventually"? Of course they will be replaced "eventually" - maybe when web browsers and http are replaced. I'm wondering if you have something more concrete (and nearer term) in view.

Greetings Kevin; You know, with statements such as this, just about everyone's radar has been set to high alert status. [:)]
I think integrating the forums into faithlife with a faithlife chat function (think facebook) and both embedded into the logos android app would be slick. :-)
There is a similar system already in place, minus the chat function. Check out the Faithlife Groups app.

Please turn your radar off and reset your status.
I'm on vacation but checked the forums and obviously let my guard down by quickly answering a question without realizing the many thought tangents, assumptions, etc. that might have been prompted by it.
Poor choice of words on my part. "These forums" = the 10 year old forum software that we currently use, not the forums themselves. Talk to everyone next week.

Have a great vacation, Kevin.
Thanks!
10 years ago people were unhappy when the newsgroups were retired, and people will be unhappy again when the forums get retired...
Personally, I'm glad that there's progress, even if it feels painful at times...

I think that forums are just not suitable for a phone or small device. (Reading the forums, perhaps. I can do that fine on my iPhone 6+ now through the browser. But posting, possible, but not ideal.) That is for the same reason that a phone is not a great device to write a paper or a book. Phones are small, and it is hard to type on such a device. I am not sure any app could be an improvement upon the browser. Especially if you are older and have large fingers, like myself, it is unreasonable to expect any app on a phone to make the forums an easy experience.
After all, the forums are not part of the app for any desktop computer Faithlife Bible program either. Making a phone app practical for the forums is somewhat like requesting Logos / Faithlife to make Dr. Who's Tardis. Make it small on the outside, but big on the inside. Until they get their sonic screwdrive, it is not going to happen.
On the other hand, maybe I am just showing my age.
What you need is a stylus instead of a finger for navigation ...
Oh, wait. I forgot the "If you see a stylus, they blew it" mantra.
Oh, wait. I forgot the new Apple_Pencil . [;)]
The press loves to jump on those things, but they are really ridiculous. Jobs point was that you shouldn't need a stylus to perform basic tasks. The new Apple Pencil is for drawing.
My wife was given a Surface Pro 3 at work and she is about to blow her fuse with the implementation of the stylus.

All gentle Apple-bashing aside, web browsing on a phone with a fat, greasy finger is a challenge. Samsung's implementation of their S Pen on their Note series of phones is superb. I will admit, however, that I do use my finger to do basic tasks just as Jobs says.
