Hi, I have problems with my eye sight and have a text to speech package to use on all documents.

I would really like to use it on Afrikaans Bible Literature, like "Die Bybel In Praktyk" from Logos, but have no idea where I can buy an Afrikaans speaking voice. Anyone out there who can help?

    Hello Annie,

I know someone from our church involved in recording the bible. I will ask if he knows?

    Hi,

I have no knowledge of Afrikaans but decided to google a little and see what I could find.  What is the tts package you are using?

This is a link to MBROLA project (One Afrikaans voice exist, named af1 (male) provided by Daan Wissing) http://tcts.fpms.ac.be/synthesis/mbrola.html

From other sites I read that this free project has had issues in the past, although apparently it has been reworked and should be better now. Here is a sample audio file Afrikaans

I hope this helps. I am happy to do more digging around for you if you would like.
