I have a screen shot of Logos 4 stored in my Word Document but I can't copy into the Forum. Can anyone help? Also how do you post pictures into the forum?
When you're on the Compose screen in the forums, look at the toolbar that has the smiley-face on it. Two icons to the left is the paper-clip icon. Use it to paste your image to a forum post.
Richard gives you good advice. However, the image in a Word document won't show up in the forum like the screen captures you see around here. You need to save the image as a .png or .jpeg (don't know if .gif is accepted). Then click the paper clip, designate the file and insert it into your post.
Thanks! It is a beautiful snowy day in Dallas, Tx. 4-6 inches expected.
Nasty. Good thing those Texans in Dallas know how to drive in the snow (ducking now).
For screen captures I've been using a freeware tool I found a while back that works pretty well, and includes some ability to draw on the screen capture before saving. It's called Pic Pick and it's available from CNet (a known safe site) at this URL:

The size difference between a bitmap (BMP) and JPG or PNG is quite dramatic. Windows internal screen capture saves to a bitmap. Other screen capture utilities can also save to many different formats. They can be very handy.

There's so much snow you can't see all the tall buildings.
BTW: that can't be Dallas because there are trees in the picture.
Mark:
You are right that first picture was taken in Ohio, but there are plenty of trees in Dallas. This picture was taken today in my neighborhood.
For quick screen captures in Windows, one can hit ALT+PRINTSCREEN. Then open MS Paint and paste. Save as a jpeg or a png and upload with the attachment paper clip.

There's a whole wiki page with recommendations about how to do screenshots: http://wiki.logos.com/Screenshot
There's also a way to get an image out of a Word document if you want just the image file and want to maintain the full resolution that it was originally at (not just screen resolution which you'd get if you do a screen capture of the Word document). It works if you've got Word 2007 or later. Make sure the document is saved as a Word native file (not Word 97-2003 format), make a copy of the document and rename it with a .zip extension (answer "Yes" to the "Are you sure?" prompt), unzip the .zip file, in it you'll find a word folder and inside that a media folder; inside the latter you'll find all the images in the document, at their native resolution.

That works fine for most situations, but if you wish to save an image of your screen with a pop-up then you need something else. Dave Hooton turned me on to Irfan View (Google it). I can launch Irfan View and set it to delay for a few seconds (adjustable) then bring up the pop-up. I then need to be quick to kill Irfan View so it doesn't take another shot when I'm no longer ready for it. It's a good program -- highly recommended. It also allows you to save in different formats. I chose to save mine in GIF since it's fairly compact and good enough for posting on the forum.
I use and love SnagIt. Not only can it grab screenshots with a pop-up or a menu dropped down, t will also capture the mouse pointer if you set it to do so. Its options for after-processing are awesome too. Torn edge effect, easily blurring out areas (in case something private is showing), etc.
I've been using greenshot and I like it very much.
