I'm thinking about investing in the whole series. Given that this is still incomplete which I surely understand and our natural impatience for the completion; what do you think of the series thus far finished? Have those volumes met your expectations?

Please don't gripe here about the delays. I want some additional perspective from those who have actually used their EEC commentaries.

The only of the EEC commentaries that I have interacted with as a whole are James & Ezra, which I have read almost all of both. They were both very very good. I appreciated the simultaneous effort to be scholarly while also recognizing the Bible as God's Word and seeking to help the reader "sit under" and apply what we read. It's written by people who study God's Word diligently, deeply, and with a good knowledge of the original language and the state of the scholarship, but they also believe it.

I have interacted with portions of Song of Songs, Lamentations, and Exodus as well, and have found that to be the case with the portions I've read there.

I am confident that for most books, my EEC volumes will be among my top commentaries.

I have very, very high regard for the editor (and author of Genesis commentary) of the series, Dr. Bill Barrick, and have a great deal of trust in the kinds of commentaries that will come out under his watch.

Jacob pretty well described my experience with EEC—even concentration on the same Scripture. Everything released so far is top shelf, and there is no reason to believe that the rest will not be of the same—or nearly the same—level.
