Note Files

I would like to pare down one of my note files. It has grown rather large mainly because I am an avid highlighter and note maker and have used multiple translations in the process. Currently I am going through the book of Hebrews and have a note file entitled "Hebrews" but it contains highlights and notes from the AV, KJV1900, ESV, HCSB and the NKJV. I would like to remove some of the notes that are translation specific (HCSB for instance) in an effort to diminish the size of the note file. Is there a way to simply search out ONLY the notes (whether they are merely highlights or the notes themselves) for a particular translation in order to delete them and is it possible to do so wholesale or must it be done individually?

Bob, I am not aware of an easy way to do this. Personally I learned this lesson the hard way years ago when I had large note files that included multiple resources. Now when taking notes and highlighting I create a separate notes document for each resource.

Certainly NOT the news I wanted but it was expected! Thanks for the help. I have already started to do something very similar to what you do but I was hoping to speed up the process by doing some kind of a wholesale delete of other resources. Thanks again.

The iOS apps (and maybe android as well) organize the highlighting by resource. Go to Tools | Highlights. Then find the resource, HCSB, for example, and select it, you should see your highlights from there. Then select Edit and delete away.

Yes that is possible and a great option if you just want to delete them. What I would like to do is to re-allocate which note file it is in otherwise the annotations will be lost when you delete them.
