Reformation Study Bible (2015)

I'm looking at my recently acquired Reformation Study Bible (RSB) on Biblia and all the maps are in Black and White. When I look at the website for the RSB it shows samples of maps in color like the "Galilee in the Time of Jesus" map.
Is this an error?

In reading the reviews online, it mentions the print bible has 16 color maps found at the back but the maps in the study notes are B&W. Why wouldn't the color maps be included?

Just a guess, it could be that the file Logos was sent only had black and white maps.

This is a very good question, maybe not the most important issue in the world but it would be nice for Logos to provide the highest quality resources that it possibly can.

I tried emailing CS on this issue but I haven't heard back yet. Anyone know what the average response time is? I'm curious if not including the maps is an issue that can be addressed or not.

This was the first thing that I noticed Matt in the Reformation Study Bible - black and white maps. Who does that anymore????? They really should be in color. If there are 16 color maps at the back of this Study Bible, they should be here.
"The Reformation Study Bible should match the HARDCOVER COPY in every way. We do not pay for books, study bibles, commentaries, etc. with resources missing from them."
Can a FAITHLIFE EMPLOYEE give us an explanation for this please?

Well the actual maps in the study notes are B&W regardless of digital or print I found out. The one bummer is that the print comes with 16 color maps at back and a ton of free online resources that I guess don't come with the logos version. I could understand the online resources but you'd think the maps would come with... oh well

Pretty sure this must have been a FL choice as the Accordance version has the 16 colour maps at the end.
Here is one of them.

Again Dan Francis:
"The Reformation Study Bible should match the HARDCOVER COPY in every way. We do not pay for books, study bibles, commentaries, etc. with resources missing from them."
This will always remain my motto!
These beautiful color maps should be in the Digital Version here on LOGOS!

Pardon my ignorance but what is the accordance version?

It's another bible software program. I think it runs on Macs only.

It runs native on windows Mac as well as it's iOS version... Kunute I wasn't trying to argue that they shouldn't be there, but occasionally things are not there because the publisher refuses to include them, I was just trying to say in this example it seems to have been a choice made by FL since they are there in other software.

I understand you Dan Francis and am not trying to argue with you either. After seeing that beautiful color map that you posted; showed me that it was a poor choice made by FAITHLIFE not to include these maps in the Digital Version.

The colour maps are worth having.
Faithlife should tell us what exactly has happened.
It is not good enough to find out a resource is missing parts only when it has downloaded.

I don't know if this helps at all but I did finally get a response from Customer Service. I wish I didn't delete it but I did. The response was something along the lines of well it must have not been included in the file they sent us. Maybe if several of us question them they can look into this. I don't know if they pay attention to these forums or not

Let me jump in on this discussion about the Reformation Study Bible. I have an edition copyright 1995. I thought with Logos we were to get lifetime updates. Has this edition I have already been updated with updates to the newer information? Please let me know how all this woks with Logos. Thanks

We do get a life time of updates.
IF your 95 edition contains typos, or has links to books that are not yet, but become logos books those types of things are updated and freely.
IF they release a new edition with new or different content, that is a different story.L2 lvl4 (...) WORDsearch, all the way through L10,

This seems like a fine line but I hear you saying that in this case the Reformation Study Bible is a whole new edition with new content. Thanks for your reply.

Yes! Its pretty great. 75 scholars contributed to it.
I have both the print (which I preach from) and the digital (just aquired) editions.
I can post an article from it if you'd like to compare it to the 95 edition. I think I have that as well. Just name your passage - this way you can get a feel for it.L2 lvl4 (...) WORDsearch, all the way through L10,

I don't know about this particular resource but generally the publisher has purchased rights to images from other sources. They may not have the right to authorize Faithlife to produce those images and the actual owner of the rights may not be willing to negotiate with Logos. I know this is the explanation given for certain missing images.

I wish a FL employee would weigh in so we could quit speculating. That just tends to make people madder.

I sent an email today, but it is still "morning" in B'ham.

RE: The Reformation Study Bible: English Standard Version (2015 Edition). In the initial production there was a rights issue with the color maps. We have now resolved that issue and have added the resource to our update queue. We have no ETA.

Sorry for this mixup. We'll get it corrected as soon as we can.

Thank you sirs!

Thank you Alan Peet (Faithlife) and Phil Gons for sorting out this issue, and giving us the update on it.
You were right MJ.Smith, it was a rights issue.

Maps have never been a big feature for me, but as I study they seem more useful. Lots of footwork is a hallmark of the biblical story.
